As of 5am… Preliminary overnight reports of snow in Urbana is 6.2, Forsyth 7.1, Springfield 5.4, Kankakee 3. Emergency crews are busy and many area schools are cancelling school to keep the kids safe at home. Roads are still piled up and blowing and drifting snow is causing problems. 6-9 inches are expected to be total amounts with an additional 1-2 inches still in the forecast.
Joel Moore from the Iroquois Cty Highway Deartment reports drifting and blowing snow… IQ Cty received 8-10 inches. Winds are expected to kick up to 25-30 miles per hour.
